Camp for youth growing up on alternative care

Youth camp named “My tomorrow” was held from 23rd till 26th of August 2018 on Divčibare, as one of the activities that is part of project for youth that comes from social services protection and care. It was common activity created by SOS Dečija sela Serbia, FICe Serbia and youth organization “Moj krug”.

Camp included various activities (social support workshops, sport, creative and culture activities, etc.) where young people had an opportunity to share experiences, feelings, knowledge and opinions between each other and to prepare better for process of independence and leaving the social services system in order to start independent life.

45 young people, age from 16 to 30, that live in centers for children and young or in foster care, as well as young who are already independent, had an opportunity to learn, enjoy sports activities, show creativity on costume party and have fun through 4 days with expert support provided by workshop facilitators.

This was also the opportunity to present organization “Moj krug”, the first and the only organization for youth grown up without parents in Eastern Europe, that after camp included even more members – young people willing to do something more for better tomorrow, for themselves and for other around them who are in same or similar situation and who need support in their first steps in independence process.
